NOVEMBER I6TH, 1944 FLIGHT Advertisement*. 19 t.\>AMO<Vfl ^K^NAC^ Theory and practice For many years the Simmonds Elastic Stop Nut with the fibre collar has been a standard fitment in the Aircraft Industry. Now, to some extent, it is being superseded by our metal diaphragm type. We our selves welcome this tendency since for some purposes — but by no means all—the metal diaphragm Stop Nut has clear advantages. Obviously it has not proved itself to the extent of the fibre collar type but our own Pinnacle Nut (metal diaphragm) has five years of trial and service behind it, so we know pretty well what can be expected of it and how it will behave. During the last 10 years 90% of the Stop Nuts used in British Industry have been supplied by Simmonds. All that practical experience of Stop Nuts — of their limitations as well as their virtues—will be useful to designers- and production - managers who are faced with the problem of which to use, and when, where, and how. It is yours for the asking. SIMMONDS STOP UTS Simmonds Aerocessories Limited • Great West Road • London • A Company of the Simmondi Group
