Wing Cdr. G. D. SISE, IJ.8O D.F.C, R.N.Z A.F.. No. 248 Sqn.—This officer has dis-played great gallantry in operations against the enemy. He is a brilliant leader whose personalexample and untiring efforts have done much towards raising his squadron to the highest stan-dard ot fighting efficiency. Since being awarded a bar to the D.F.C. he has led formations ofaircraft in several attacks on enemy shipping. In November, 1944, Wing Cdr. Sise i.artieipatedin an attack on shipping in Floro Harbour. Much anti-aircraft fire was encountered WingCdr. Sise's aircraft was hit. One engine e&ught fire, but he pressed home his attack and after-wards flew his damaged aircraft to base. Some days later this officer led a very large formationof aircraft in an operation off Aalsund. In October, 1D44, Wing Cdr. Kleboe took part inan attack on Essen. At the commencement of the bombing run heavy and concentrated anti-aircraft fire was encountered. The aircraft was hit. A largo piece of shrapnel smashed throughthe pilot's windscreen. Wing Cdr. Kleboe sus- tained numerous small cuts about the face. This,together with the violent inrush of wind through the broken windscreen, temporarily blinded him.Control was lost. Wing Cdr. kleboe quickly levelled out, however, and, although in greatpaiB, went on to execute a steady and successful bombing run. He afterwards flew the aircraftsafely back to this country. He set a fine < xaniple of tenacity and devotion to duty. Act. isqn. Mr. R. FINDLATEH, IJ.F.C, R.A.F.,No. 109 Sqn.—This officer has displayed courage, tenacity and devotion to dnty of a high order.He has completed & very largo number of sorties, many of them being missions demanding thehighest, standard of ability. One night in Novem- ber, 1944, lie was the navigator of an aircraftdetailed to attack Gelsenkirchen. His outstand- ing work in the difficult circumstances played agood part in the success of the sortie. In addi- tion to his notable work in the air the officerhas devoted much of his skill and Inowledge towards the training of other members of theaquadroii. His record is most impressive. Act. Squ Ldr H. E. T. PRAGER, D.F.C.,R.A.F.V.R., No. 514 Sqn.—This officer has com- pleted very many sorties since being awarded theD.F.C.
