HERCULES .Allfiirli The Armstrong-Whitworth Albemarle has proved a useful multi-purpose transport aircraft. It has been used extensively for glider-towing and paratroop carrying in addition to general transport and supply duties. Albemarles played an important part in the tremendous air effort of " D-day" and after- wards.
