He has beenawarded the Amy Johnson scholarship for the best first-year student in thecourse. Victory Bells A VICTORY BELL appeal in aid ofthe R.A.F. Benevolent Fund was launched last week-end when Will Hayauctioned special bells cast by famous Battle of Britain pilots. A sum of £3,500was realised. These handbells are cast from metal obtained from Germa'n air- craft shot down over this country andare being sold to the public at ^1 each. The whole of the gas and electricityundertakings throughout the country have put their showrooms at the dis-,posal of the appeal committee. Every golf club and many of the leading storeshave also agreed to carry a stock of bells. Back on the Map CHANNEL ISLANDS AIRWAYS,LTD., announce that Commander C. O. Waters, R.N.V.R., A.R.Ae.S., theGeneral Manager of the Company and of its associates, Jersey Airways, Ltd., andGuernsey Airways, Ltd., has been ap- pointed Managing Director of all threeCdr. Waters, who has now resumed residence in Jersey, was released fromwartime service with the Royal Naval Air Arm in the autumn of last year whenhe relinquished the position of Deputy Superintendent of the largest R.N.
