NOVEMBER 22ND 1945 AMBASSADOR., powered by GENTAUEQS A new transcontinental, feeder-line aircraft now being constructed by Airspeed Ltd. The powering of this twin-engined, all metal constructed aircraft, is by " Bristol" CENTAURUS sleeve-valve engines, developing well over 2,500 B.H.P. each. As a planned feature of design, the CENTAURUS engines facilitate an exceptional reserve of power, giving the aircraft a wide cruising range 200—285 m.p.h. and an extremely safe one-engine performance. The installation of CENTAURUS engines in the " AMBASSADOR" is an acknowledgment of those single sleeve-valve characteristics of exceptional reliability and economy which make " Bristol" sleeve-valve engines a logical choice for civil aviation purpose..
