SERVICE AVIATION Royal Air Force and Naval Air Arm News and Announcements Demobilisation Improvement on February Announce- ment ADVANCE notification of the releaseprogramme of the R.A.F. and W.A.A.F. up to the end of May shows animprovement on the groups expected to ; reached when last month's announce- ent was made for this period. Insteadof R.A.F. groups up to 35 being sche- duled up to the end of June, as formerlypromulgated, officer aircrew up to and including group 36, and airmen aircrrwup to and including group 38 will be re- leased by the end of May, but with theexception of meteorological air observers. The general level of release for air-women is raised to group 45, and for W.A.A.F. officers to group 44, but it isstated that some unavoidable variations remain in the groups to be releasedamong both R.A.F. and W.A.A.F. offi- cers, in employments in which it has notbeen possible to make good current shortages by retaining personnel fromother branches. The standard release group of ground airmen is raised to group 35 by the endof May instead of June; in some trades it will be up to and including group 36by this date. Again there will be excep- tions in the case of the accounting tradeswhose position is under consideration, and in the case of meteorologists.
