AUGUST 29TH, 1946 -' "•"* Af ristol Freighter 2336O cu. ft. for 4i tons cargo load .... An average volume/weight ratio for general merchandise is 120 cu. ft. per ton, so that with a cargo hold capacity of 2,360 cu. ft. the Freighter has stowage capacity—on a cubic basis—for almost 20 tons of merchandise. The optimum disposable load of the Freighter is 4! tons which—even if absorbing only 55% of the available stowage space—indicates that the aircraft is able to carry many of the lighter-weighted classes of. merchandise which, hitherto, have been considered uneconomic propositions for air freighting. Trials have now been completed; specification finalised and deliveries of both Freighter and Wayfarer (passenger) arc novv being made. the ir or Id's most eeon am i eat cargo aircraft THE T O O P L.
