SEflEMBER I2TH, 1946 FLIGHT Advertisements. 11 maximum and minimum Manufactured under British Patent Nos. 429,528 522,100 550,068 is THE ESTABLISHED SEATING LUXURY This exclusive seating made to meet the requirements of the designer, operator, and passen- ger, to take up reasonable space and offer superlative comfort. Given 40-in. centres, Christie-Tyler seats are everything to be desired for crew or passenger comfort. There are several models ; illustrated is the luxury Passenger Model, deeply upholstered in hide with adjustable head-rest, all carried in a strong, light aluminium alloy tubular frame. The curve of the seats allows for close spacing yet with complete comfort to your passengers in whatever position they sit. Flying with the Services this seating has probably more flying hours to its credit than any other. It is designed to a new principle which eHminates muscular strain and fatigue and allows complete rest. Each seat is made on the principle of a deeply upholstered hammock fixed at one end and pivoted at the other. On sitting down the pivot conies under the thigh so that whether the legs are stretched out or drawn up, the movement the thigh imposes on the pivot causes the hammock to conform to the shape of the body fitting snugly into the small of the back. Complete support is given to all parts b'^ween the head and the knees. The hammock naturally supports the body t jOighout its movement and there are no hard edges to impede circulation. Enquiries should be made to the manufacturer, Christie-Tyler Ltd., 55 Pall Mall, London. S.W.I. (Telephone : Whitehall 5747). CHRISTIETYLEB CT2
