The Hornet weighs 21,080-/6. and attains 470 m.p.h. with full war load, including four 20 mm. guns. Two 1,000-/6. bombs or batteries of rocket projectiles may be carried under the wing as alternatives to drop-tanks. MART/N-BAKER M-R V: A girder-type fuselage is but one of the unusual features of this unique fighter. It will be seen that the lines are highly modern and that the Rolls- ftoyce Griffon engine drives contra-rotating </*., rews. A speed of 460 m.p.h. is attained. HAWKER FURY: A splendid example of a modern genera I-purpose single-seat fighter with the latest type of high-output piston engine. The standard Fury and Sea Fury are powered by a Bristol Centaurus engine, but the latest variant, shown here, has a Napier Sabre VII. With methanol/water injection this engine gives the Fury a top speed of 485 m.pjt.
