APRIL 17TH, 1947 FLIGHT This general-arrangement drawing of the new Avro AthenaT.I. shows that the range of vision from the three-seater cabin should be exceptionally good. Dimensions are: Span 40ft, length 37ft ioin, height 12ft. 3m, track 11ft ioin. Mention may also be made of three interesting new Anson developments, all based on the Avro xix. The Anson T xx is classed as an Empire Navigational Trainer, the T.21 as a Home Navigational Trainer, and the T.22 as a Radio Trainer. The Lancaster A.S.R. Mks. 1 and 11 are adapted to carry the. airborne lifeboat, as shown in the accompanying photograph. Provisionally known as Tudor (Transport Command), two Tudor ins are now being furnished for V.V.I.P. transport. These operate 011 rollers mounted on the centre and outer wings. Dive- brakes are fitted on the upper and lower surfaces of the outer wings and, when retracted, lit- in recesses.
