MAY 22ND, 1947 FLIGHT Advertisements THE ROTAX D.SOOI THERMALLY OPERATED TRIP SWITCH is designed to provide manual (push-button) " on " and " off " control plus overload and short circuit protection for any aircraft electrical circuit normally rated at 5 amperes. 10-ampere, 15-ampere and 20-ampere models are also available. It has inverse current time tripping characteristics. The trip can, however, be overridden by pressing the larger operating button. It Calibrated in an %-nbient temperature of 25°C, but will carry normal rated current up to 40°C, and will function sazfi^torily at —30°C. It is self-compensating for tripping time at any ambient temperature, the tripping time under overload conditions becoming shorter for an increased ambient temperature and longer for a decreased ambient temperature; thus the maximum temperature to which the protected circuit will rise is approximately constant. The overload trip time is calibrated to give adequate protection to 4-ampere cables, the minimum recommended. All the design details are fully patented, ar<d it will pass double the life test requirements of the M.O.S. specifications. Overall size : 2.405 in. x 2.187 in. x .760 in.
