JUNE 26TH, 1947 FLIGHT Advertisements v. ACHIEVEMENT "Skyways"—the largest Air-Charter Compahy in Europe —have just established another record with their Rolls- Royce Merlin enginedAvro "York" Aircraft. In the last 12 months two of their "Yorks," Skyway and Sky Courier, have flown OVER 2,000 HOURS. This is a tribute to the organisation which produced such a high intensity of operation and to the absolute reliability of the Merlin engine over long periods. Furthermore, this was not accomplished over regular scheduled air routes, but on charter routes where conditions vary from day to day, so that reliability is essential for successful operation.
