HERMES IV Hermes IV is the fastest British airliner. Pressurised, air- conditioned and with tricycle undercarriage, it carries 63 passengers through the sub-stratosphere. A fleet of Hermes IV airliners will be operated on its Empire routes by the British Overseas Airways Corporation High speed (nearly 360 m.p.h. maximum), economy of operation (one shilling per ton mile) and luxurious passenger accommodation are salient features of the Hermes IV.
