OCTOBER 9™, 1947 FLIGHT Advertisements X \ The Rotax N 14 A tour-pole rotating magnet magneto has cast "Alnico" magnets and develops four sparks per revolution. It is fitted to the Bristol Hercules engine. Among features which contribute to excellent performance at altitudes up to 38,000 ft., are a circular distributor with well-spaced segments, deletion of the trailing electrode by use of a Rotax low tension booster coil for starting purposes, and waterproofing. Full screening is obtained when the ignition harness is connected by means of two seven-way quick disconnect plugs. Over the full speed range of 700 r.p.m. to 6,200 r.p.m., fully screened, the output voltage is 9,000 volts minimum. The weight is 17*5 Ib.
