He succeeds Colonel H. G. de Rancourt de Mimerand, C.B.E., D.F.C., A.F.C., who has held the post since March 29th, 1945- and who, it is understood, is to return to France for active service with the French Air Force. Plans for the development of the plant include the set- ting up of a new high-flux reactor several times more powerful than the existing Oak Ridge pile, and a continued effort to apply atomic power to industry.
