28 Advertisements. FLIGHT OCTOBER 30TH, 1947 Passenger Comfort However luxurious a cabin interior may be, comfort over long-stage journeys is only a reality when an aircraft is quiet and when the passengers are not subjected to changes of atmospheric pressure or shortage of oxygen. Even in its present unfurnished test-shell form the Ambassador is unusually quiet. This is no fortunate accident in design. The reasons lie in the low tip-speed of the propellers with, as subsidiary factors, the over-wing exhausts and the aerodynamic cleanliness of the air- craft as a whole. All production Ambassadors will be pressurised to give low-level atmospheric conditions in the cabin at heights up to 20,000 ft. Additionally, the high wing layout offers the passengers an unobstructed view with no wing-glare, and a door-entry level which is conveniently near the ground.
