The Bristol Aeroplane Companyhas always adopted a conserva- tive policy in regard to overhaulperiods allowed the post-war series of " Bristol " Hercules630 engines, which are operating in large numbers in VickersViking and "Bristol" Wayfarer and Freighter aircraft.A period of 500 hours was established as the standardoverhaul period in May, 1947. Since then, the Ministry of CivilAviation has granted Airwork Limited 600 hours betweenoverhaul of Vickers Viking air- craft—powered by "Bristol"Hercules engines and maintain- ed by Airwork Limited.
