FEBRUARY 3RD 1949 oil prospecting by "Bristol" Freighter Flying regularly for the next six months over potential oil-bearing terrain in Iran, the " Bristol " Freighter used by Hunting Aerosurveys has been specially modified and equipped for aerial survey duties. The Freighter—selected for this work as the only aircraft ^_ . fulfilling essential requirements in design and performance — carries a survey camera and over a ton of photographic equipment in addition to survey operating gear. The aircraft has a number of specially fitted " Perspex " observation panels in the nose doors and is equipped with ox gen apparatus for use at altitudes of 22,000 feet . . . This further demonstrates the adaptability of the "Bristol" Freighter to suit specialist requirements, and adds to the already wide range of operations on which " Bristol " Type 170 aircraft are employed.
