Reservists' RecordN O. 1 Reserve Flying School of theR.A.F.V.K., which is based at Pans- hanger, Herts, now has 364 pilots, 69navigators and 41 signallers on its strength. Its previous record of 1,220hours in a month, set up twelve months ago, was beaten last month by more than164 hours. To ensure that flying gets away to a good start, some of the Londonreservists are met by a 23-seat coach in London early on Sunday. If response is fcdequate, details will be announced later. Royal Naval Flying Club ; AFTER some years of wartime Slidpost-war inactivity, the Royal Naval Flying Club is now being revived. Upto 1939 the Club had no property or pre- mises of its own and members enjoyedaffiliated membership of a number of clubs located near Naval bases. In itsnew form, however, the Club possesses two Tipsies, the gift of the Fairey Avia-tion Company, and by arrangement with the Board of Admiralty is temporarilyestablished at the Royal Naval Air Sta- tion, Gosport, Hants. Membership is open to serving andretired officers of the Royal Navy and Reserves, Royal Marines and Common-wealth Navies. Subscription rates are ^2 2s per annum for members living inthe United Kingdom and 10s 6d per annum for those living or serving over-seas. There is an entrance fee of £1. The stated objects of the Club are toprovide economical private flying for officers of the Navy and Naval Reserveswho are already qualified pilots and to train others to "A" licence standard.It is also intended to be a social meeting place where members may bring theirwives and friends into the atmosphere of club aviation. A Club building, in pleasant surround-ings at Gosport, is now being made ready for the opening date, which is expectedto be early in June. Mr. Kenneth W. Birt, formerly with the Wiltshire FlyingClub, has been appointed chief flying instructor. Flying rates have been pro-visionally fixed at £2 dual and £2 5s solo per hour. In due course it is hoped to increasethe size of the aircraft fleet, and to open branches at places where there is a suffi-cient demand, particularly in the Lon- : don area.
