Boyle was previously Direc-tor-General of Personnel (I) at the Air Ministry, from July, 1948, after havingbeen Assistant Commandant of the R.A.F. Staff College, Bracknell, fromJanuary, 1947. He took the 1946 course at the Imperial Defence College and wasformerly A.O.C.
