FLIGHT, 27 April 1950 The Balliol T.2 has been selected as the new stan- dard advanced trainer for the Royal Air Force following competitive Service trials extending over twelve months: In the course of these trials, die Balliol has been thoroughly tested under tropical conditions and has proved it- self as suitable for operation in the tropics as in more temperate climates. With its service ceiling of 32,500 feet, the Balliol T.2 maintains a rate of climb of over 2,000 feet per minute to a height of 11,500 feet above sea level, and can thus be operated without difficulty from high altitude aerodromes. At 8,000 feet, its take-off distance to clear a 50-ft. screen does not exceed 640 yards. BOULTOH PAUL AIRCRAFT LTD WOIVERHAMPTON
