736 A sectioned Derwent on the F.N. stand. Mark 8 Derwents are now in production in Belgium for Dutch and Belgian Meteors. BRUSSELS EXHIBITION . . . be described as a sleeker version with one-piece moulded enclosure of the popular two-seat light touring type. The Walter Mikron engine is retained with metal airscrew, but the cockpit interior, and particularly the instrument panel, is much improved. Its stand-mate is OO ULA, the well- known Junior, which has been re-engined to match OO-TIT, still in this country. • • • Mr. Tips has plans to build a new light aircraft engine of revolutionary design and employing the two-stroke cycle. For many years he has tried all types of small engines in his many intriguing light-aircraft designs, but says that he has found none entirely satisfactory from all points of view. •..•'.._•• * * * Not included in the historical exhibit, but represented by a model on the Avions Fairey stand, is a biplane built by Mr. Tips in 1908. This had a welded tubular structure —-and, believe it or not, reversible-pitch airscrews. A comparatively snug-looking dinghy is the principal exhibit of the R.F.D. Company, of Godalming. The Breda-Pittoni 471 inverted-gull-winged twin-engined transport is due to fly in a week or two. Vibration tests are nearing completion. A possible participant in the Antwerp display is the large and handsome Breda-Zappata 308 transport with four Bristol Centaurus engines. * • # Scheduled for demonstration at Antwerp on June 24th- 25th are the Meteor 8, Hawker P.1052 or P.1081. Canberra, Comet, Sealand, Sikorsky S.51, Bonanza, Mentor, Cornell, Fouga Sylphe, Sipa 901, S.O.6000 Triton, Dassault 450 Ouragan, Morane Saulnier, M.S.700, Dassault M.D.315, S.O.95 Corse, S.0.30P Bretagne, S.E.2010 Armagnac, Nord 2500 (now called " Le Cargo"), Breguet 890 Mercure, Breguet 761 Deux Ponts, Nord 1400 Noroit, Macchi 320, Piaggio P. 136, Fokker S.n and S.13, Aero 45 and Sokol D.i.
