20 APRIL 195 I FLIGHT 45 Fully patented THE LOCKHEED ENGINE DRIVEN PUMP This famous pump is used not only in conjunc- tion with the Lockheed 'Servodyne' system, but also by many users as a source of hydraulic power for their own systems. Nearly 40,000 of these pumps have been sup- plied, and the Mark VII version is approved for normal speeds of 4,000 r.p.m. at 3,000 p.s.i., with half-hour overspeed periods at 5,200 r.p.m. at 3,000 p.s.i. The adaptability of the pump, due to its fine basic design and exquisite workmanship, is shown by its use on public service vehicles and for hydraulic con- trols in industrial equipment. In these situations, where neither compactness nor lightness is essen- tial, the pump is nevertheless outstanding in its durability and performance. £.
