FLIGHT, 18 January 1952 TRUST THE GIPSY de Havilland engine and propeller gain two world speed records On December 21, Count Leonado Bonzi flying an Ambrosini SA17 broke the 1,000 km. record for light aircraft (223.067 KPH) by 124.295 KPH achieving an average speed of 347.362 KPH (215.85 MPH).
