Flight, 29 August 1952 T A JET QUICKLY MUREX GROUN With jet aircraft a quick and reliable method of starting the engine is essential and, indeed, vital. Murex Ground Power Units have been specially developed to provide instant starting for all types of aircraft engines—pistons, turbo-jet and turbo-prop. The standard unit will supply a peak current of over 1,400 amperes for engine-starting periods and a current of 600 amperes continuously at 28 volts for servicing and pre-flight checks. Other capacities are available. Murex units are engine-driven, and thus they eliminate the expense of heavy service accumulators. They are used by B.O.A.C., B.E.A. and other world-famous airlines for the starting of all the latest types of aircraft. And once again they are being used to start the most modern aircraft at the S.B.A.C. Flying Display. STAND No. 100 S.B.A.C.
