PROT] ower for the BRITANNIA In the free-turbine Proteus the propeller and power-section of the engine are not mechanically coupled: the only drive connection is the gas stream. This allows the engine and propeller each to operate at its best condition, and consequently a high performance is given for a low specific fuel consumption.
