£1-11111 The high propulsive efficiency of a turboprop power installation enables a particularly low specific fuel consumption to be achieved. Propellers give maximum thrust for take-off and initial climb: the Britannia at maximum all-up weight can meet the ICAO three-engine take-off/climb case at an airfield elevation of 5,000 ft. in an ambient temperature of 31 deg. C. (ISAC + 26). Reverse-thrust propeller braking considerably reduces the landing run and the aircraft can if necessary be halted without the use of wheelbrakes.
