FLIGHT 14 MAY 1954 on, off, on, off-400 times That's one of the tests we made on the Nyloc. We assembled and removed it from a standard bolt four hundred times—and when we'd finished its torque value was still well above the requirements of specification A.D. 114. The bolt threads were, of course, undamaged. Use it over and over again, the Nyloc is always tenacious. Screw it on for the four hun dredth time, and sudden changes of temperature, intense vibration, or immersion in oily liquids won't make it slacken by even a thou. Yes, we did say tenacious! We liave decreased the overall height and weight of the Nyloc without affecting its screwing/unscrewing torque properties. The Nut is easier to use in restricted spaces. I I l l l I I i i The Nyloc Cap Nut has an insert and cap in one integral moulding. Used with a 'Dowty' Seal it gives a leak-proof seal suitable for use on pressurised cabins and fuel tanks.
