052 FLIGHT, 21 October Looking-in on § Vickers-Armstrongs IT is an excellent thing that the accredited representatives of-•- other nations should be enabled to see for themselves how Britain's air effort is mounting; and of no production line are wein this country more proud than the Vickers-Armstrongs Viscount line at Hurn, near Bournemouth. Recently sixteen air attachessaw this for themselves, and four of the party are grouped on the left with a Capital Airlines Viscount and Mr. Charles Gardner—assistant to the managing director of Vickers-Armstrongs (Air- craft), Ltd. Left to right, the attaches are Lt-Col. Pribyl (Czecho-slovakia), Col. A. I. Marakazov (U.S.S.R.), A. Cdre Prasong Kunadilok (Thailand) and Lt-Col. S. Kazmierski (Poland). Onthe extreme right is S/L. M. K. Forter, an R.A.F. liaison officer. The large pictures on this and the opposite page show, forthe first time, production at Weybridge of the Valiant B.I medium bomber. Production flow is now "substantial". Each Valiant isflown out from the 1,280-yd runway at Brooklands for its full programme of flight trials at nearby Wisley. The air-to-airpicture shows a Vickers-Supermarine Swift F.R.5 as now in production for the R.A.F. at Eastleigh, Itchen and South Marston.
