9 JANUARY 1959 FLIGHT 11 and the VICKERS VANGUARD THORN PLASTECK PANEL LIGHTING SYSTEM This unique trans-illuminated Control Panel fascia exceeds every visibility and illumination requirement laid down in official specifications. The lighting is controlled at a specific red wave-length which has no effect on the "dark adaptation" of the pilot or crew. As dusk falls the legends, dials and inscriptions change imperceptibly from white to red and are clearly visible in all conditions of exterior light ranging from bright sunlight to complete darkness. THORN MINIATURE DIMMER RESISTORS Thorn Miniature Dimmer Resistors are incorporated in the instrument and control panel lighting systems to provide finger tip control dimming of both the Plasteck and additional illumination equipments.
