Production Department . \ - - A TECHNICAL ASSISTANT is required to work on technicalproblems connected with C.R.T. production. He should be capable of working with only limited supervision. Qualifications: OrdinaryNational Certificate in Mechanical Engineering. Ref. JFG/GAC/ CRT/303/1. b. Technical Department AN ELECTRONIC MAINTENANCE ENGINEER isrequired to take charge of factory maintenance on C.R.T. production test equipment. He will be required to supervise three shift main-tenance mechanics. Qualifications: Higher National Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Ref. JFG/GAC/CRT/T/1. c. Technical Department ^ , • - AN ELECTRICAL DRAUGHTSMAN is required to producecircuit drawings from original rough work and to draw small mechanical sub-assemblies, chassis lay-outs and simple mechanicaldesign work. Applicants should be fully qualified Electrical Draughts- men. Ref. JFG/GAC/W.T.38. d. Development Department This department requires several young TECHNICAL ASSIS-TANTS for various posts. Qualifications: Ordinary or Advanced G.C.E. in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. They will also be requiredto assist in bulb proteasing development and C.R.T. Processing Con- trol Laboratory. Applicants with Higher National Certificate inMaths and Physics required to undertake work in vacuum and valve technology. A further post is available for an applicant withOrdinary National Certificate for general development work. Ref. JFG/GAC/TAD. SEMI-CONDUCTOR DIVISION a. Diode Production A TECHNICAL ASSISTANT is required to control andorganise the Quality Control and Technical work of other Technical Assistants. In addition, he will carry out and delegate the technicaland experimental work initiated by the Senior Engineers of the Department. Qualifications: First Year Higher National CertificateElectrical or Mechanical, G.C.E. 'A' level Maths and Physics. Ref. JFG/GAC/SCDP/1. • v . b. Transistor Production A LABORATORY ASSISTANT is required to keep recordsand routine measurements made by himself and make simple calculations. Qualifications: G.C.E. 'O' Maths and science orequivalent. Ref. JFG/GAC/SCTP/1. RECEIVING VALVE QUALITY LABORATORY A TECHNICAL ASSISTANT is required to assist seniormembers of the Department in various matters connected with measurements and quality control of receiving valves. In addition,the post will involve liaison work with other engineers in valve Production and Development Departments. Qualifications: HigherNational Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent coupled with basic knowledge of valve characteristics and experience invalve manufacture. Development Department A TECHNICAL ASSISTANT is required to assist in the abovedepartment, to initiate and progress valve tests to their final conclusion. Qualifications: not less than G.C.E. preferably O.N.C.Ref. JFG/GAC/RVDD/TA/1. TWO TECHNICAL ASSISTANTS are required to assist inthe investigation of physical problems associated with valve tech- nology. Qualifications: G.C.E. 'A' level or O.N.C. Elec. Engineering.Ref. JFG/GAC/RVDD/TA/2. A TECHNICAL ASSISTANT is required to carry out testsand trials in connection with production of valves and components. Qualifications. O.N.C. Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics.G.C.E. 'A1 level in science subjects. Ref. JFG/GAC/RVDD/TA/3. ' COMPONENTS DEPARTMENT A TECHNICAL ASSISTANT is required to make analyticaland other studies in connection with component manufacture. Qualifications: keen analytical mind and good command of Englishand Mathematics. Methodical and able to co-operate with others. Preferably studying for O.N.C. Mechanical. Ref. JFG/GAC/COMP/1. FERRITE DIVISION a. Technical Department (Computer Memory Device!) A TECHNICAL ASSISTANT is required to maintain, cali-brate and build Ferrite test equipment including automatic pulse test gear. Qualifications: O.N.C. (Electrical and previous Radarequipment maintenance experience.) Applicants should be system- atic in approach and be interested in circuitry work. Ref. JFG/ GAC/FER/1. APPLICATIONS RESEARCH LABORATORY A TECHNICAL ASSISTANT is required to be concernedwith microphony testing in Television and Radio Receivers. Some previous Television experience an advantage. Qualifications:O.N.C. Electrical Engineering. Ref. JFG/GAC/ARL/1. A TECHNICAL ASSISTANT is required to undertake workin the Development and measurement in connection with valve noises. No previous experience required but H.N.C. ElectricalEngineering preferred. Ref. JFG/GAC/ARL/2. MATERIAL RESEARCH LABORATORY There is a vacancy for an ASSISTANT CHEMIST in thisDepartment to work in the field of solid Chemistry. A basic qualifi- cation in chemistry is desirable. Ref. NON-TECHNICAL VACANCY Production Department There is a vacancy for a PROGRESS CHASER to be concernedwith control and issue of components to production floors who will be required to have an understanding of programme requirementsand material breakdown involved.
