44 FLIGHT 15 MAY 1959 FISON- AIRWORK the experienced helicopter operator Fison-Airwork now operate the largest helicopter fleet in Europe—28 Hillers and 5 Whirlwinds— and is the only company backed by over eleven years' helicopter know-how. Its VTOL and STOL activities are carried out all over the world. 26 Hillers of the Fison-Airwork fleet are in regular crop-control service in the United Kingdom, the Caribbean, Central America, and elsewhere overseas. Subsidiary companies in Africa and Australia operate fixed-wing aircraft on similar work. Four of the five Whirlwinds which, together with two Hillers, are currently transporting personnel and equipment for oil exploration companies in Nigeria and the Caribbean, supported by fixed-wing Twin Pioneers. In addition, our equipment has been specified for many of the new develop- ments in this type of aircraft. Illustrated are two of the pumps now in use—the B.P.5 Mk. 5 with a rating of 100 g.p.h. at 9.0 lbs./ sq. in minimum delivery pressure and the smaller B.P.I4 Mk. 3 rated at 50 g.p.h. with a minimum delivery pressure of 5 lbs./sq. in. Any pump can be supplied with an isolating canister enabling the unit to be easily removed without the necessity of draining the fuel tank.
