The , entered commercial service on the North Atl route with British Overseas Airways Corpor on 4th October, 1958 at an overhaul lil 1000 hours. Approval has also been given for trials at hours between overhauls. During overhaul life no scheduled engine changes are made apart from the fuel element and no internal inspection of the ei is necessary.
