Costing some £4m, and forming part of the great Port of NewYork Authority Airport complex, it was opened by the airline in June. Eight roadtraffic lanes allow more than 30 cars or taxis to load or unload every minute andapron space is sufficient to handle eight big jets an hour. In the photographbelow, the terminal—and a DC-7—is shown in relation to the main airportbuildings and the two interior views on the left show the "dining lounge" and(lower) the conveyor belt which carries passengers' luggage up from the apron.
