The underside of the Weydec is secured by L-section aluminium alloy strip. For the fascias, Hardee in "grey nimbus" finish is secured to a timber framework, with asbestos sheeting as an inner lining, and the joints between the panels are secured by H-section alloy strip. Architects are T. P. Bennett & Son. Nocturnal Signwriter What is described as "a new concept in night aerial advertis ing" has been introduced in the United States. It is carried out by a Cessna 172 Skyhawk towing a 35ft lighted sign which can be electrically extended or retracted. The sign consists of a framework to which several hundred light bulbs are attached, and on which a message can be illuminated at the dictation of an electronic pre-punched tape controlled by the pilot. The sign weighs about 701b and is said The Danish and Norwegian air attaches, Lt Col J. 8. Danielsen (left) and Lt Col 0. J. Cronmark, visiting the Brough factory of Blackburn Air craft. With them (right) is Mr M. G. K. Byrne, aircraft sales manager to have little effect on flying characteristics. Installation has been approved by the FAA and power is provided from the Skyhawk's 35A generator. The sign, which is said to be "flashing around the skylines of several eastern cities" is marketed by Re-Vue Agency, Kingston, Penn. Miniature Ring Spanners Well known as manufacturers of engineers' hand tools, Britool Ltd (of Bushbury, Wolverhampton) have introduced a new range of miniature bi-hexagon ring spanners known as "Mini- Rings." In chrome alloy steel, 18 types cover a wide range of British, metric, American and Unified nut sizes, and overall lengths range from 4Jin to 6f in. New Tachometer-generators Two new jet aircraft tachometer-generators designed to operate more than twice as long as previous models are now available from International General Electric, the market ing division of US General Electric. Operating life of the new instrument as shown in endurance tests exceeds 2,000hr. Company News Handler Page Future Choice of the Handley Page Herald for the Duke of Edinburgh's South American tour was referred to by Mr R. S. Stafford, the com pany's technical director, as "the hallmark of success" when he spoke recently at the Handley Page (Reading) annual apprentice prizegiving. Looking to the future, he com mented that with 19 of the first batch of 25 Heralds sold and with production in hand on a second batch of 25, there was plenty of work on Heralds—and on Victors and Hastings—"for several years." The firm believed that there was a market overseas for the Herald—"this unmatched military transport"—where its choice was unlikely to be governed by politics. Sikorsky Sales Manager Mr E. E.
