Illustrated on this page, this craft will have an empty weight of 1,8001b and a gross weight of 2,5001b, carrying four passengers. The engine is a 150 h.p. Lycoming O-320-A2B. Maximum forward speed is given as 90 m.p.h. and cruising speed as 70 m.p.h. Altitude is quoted as 3in at zero speed and 18in at top speed. Air craft alloy-steel tubing and aluminium sheet are used for construction and there are elevons and rudder for pitch, roll and yaw control. VA-3 in Sugar Icing Remarking that the inaugural service by the VA-3 has "caught the imagina tion of the entire country," Huntley & Palmers, the Reading biscuit manufac turers—who also have a factory at Huyton, near Liverpool—felt that, in view of the proximity of the latter factory, they would like to associate themselves in some way.
