FLIGHT International, 19 July 1962 SUPPLEMENT Air-Cushion Vehicles the beach with a full load of passengers, can be as little as 3min. Performance has proved to be very close to estimates. In general, maximum speeds have been achieved at lower propeller pitch settings than had been expected. The engines have been cleared for a nominal cruise rating of approxi mately 600 h.p. each. A few engineering details remain to be sorted out, after which the makers intend to use SR.N2 for experimental fare-paying passenger operations. Sub sequently the craft will be used for a rough-weather programme to determine the limits of its operating capabilities.
