' FLIGHT International, 30 August 1962 145 NORTHROP BUILDS IT. On a radar screen, this RP-76 target missile can look as big as the largest enemy bomber. Rocket powered, it flies faster than sound, operates above 70,000 feet. Yet this missile is less than ten feet long, weighs just over 300 pounds, and parachutes down for re-use after completing its run. Northrop provides complete RP-76 target pro grams for the U. S. Army missile range at Fort Bliss, Texas, where U. S. and NATO air-defense missile crews are trained. This service is also provided for U. S. Army air-defense installations throughout the Pacific and Far East. Northrop's programs include not only the missiles, but also full flight services and operations. MflDTUDfip
