FLIGHT International, 18 October 1962 4,600 hours'service from PrateusMparts IN NIMONIC*ALLOYS IN THE BRISTOL SIDDELEY PROTEUS, high-tempera ture components fabricated in the NIMONIC Series of heat-resisting alloys have already achieved long service lives. Turbine rotor blades of stages 2, 3 and 4, in NIMONIC 105, 90 and 80A alloys respectively, nor mally achieve total lives of at least 4,600 hours, and NIMONIC 75 alloy combustion chambers have given 4,666 hours' service.
