Two General Electric C/6/0 turbojets power the Jet Commander 1121 NUMBERED among the trimmest and (in two senses) most businesslike aircraft yet flown is the Jet Commander 1121, by Aero Commander Inc, of Bethany, Oklahoma. Already in production, it seats four to six passengers and is claimed to cruise at speeds exceeding 500 m.p.h. at 35,000ft. Estimated range is in excess of 1,900 statute miles, plus a 45min fuel reserve. The makers state that it has been planned from its inception "for corporate management use and will sell for $475,000 (£170,000) including standard four-place executive interior, lavatory, buffet and crew compartment with basic dual flight instrumentation." They add: "One of the outstanding factors of the Jet Commander is the purchase agreement provided by the manufacturer. Included in the agreement are guarantees of a firm price established now, a firm delivery date and interest on the purchasers' deposits. The aircraft performance also is guaranteed by the contract."
