Official Organ of the Royal Aero Club First Aeronautical Weekly in the World Founded in 1909 Salon International THE 25TH PARIS SALON, now called "Salon International de 1'Aeronau- tique et de FEspace," opens tomor row, June 7. So does France continue a tradition established on September 25, 1909, with the "ler Salon Inter national de la Locomotion Aerienne." In these modern times the show is presented not in the autumn but in summer; not in the time-honoured Grand Palais but at the airport of Le Bourget, where the open air adds both to the exhibition space and to the enjoyment of visitors. The Paris Show has always been important, and this year it is more important and bigger than ever before. Seventeen countries are re presented, and within the spacious halls and parks many of the world's most advanced aircraft, aero-engines and rockets are displayed, together with a great quantity of associated Salon International LE 25EME SALON DE PARIS, appele a present le "Salon International de l'Aeronautique et de l'Espace," sera inaugure demain, 7 juin. The scene is exciting, colourful, futuristic. There is nothing like a Paris Show, for even Britain's great spectacle at Farnborough (which will not take place this year) is solely a national occasion. As befits a journal bearing our title, and in tribute to France as host nation, we review at unprecedented length in this issue the offerings of the exhibitors—approaching 400 in number—both in the English and the French languages. Thus an occasion of immense international significance is marked by something out of the ordinary in aerospace journalism. It is our hope and belief that, for many thousands of readers, new and old, their enjoyment of the 25th Paris Salon, and their ability to profit from it. will be much enhanced by a study of this issue. interessant, futuriste.
