FLIGHT International, 861 6 June 1963 Nord MH.262 computer techniques to evaluate missile performance. This is being presented by the R.A.E., who also demonstrate a method of analysing vibration, including shock, and a technique for tracing the source of a vibration and the path it follows. Progress in air traffic control, including new navigational aids, and the likely development of the use of computers, is represented. The computers described include Euclid, which is coming into service early next year for experi ments in processing information and its display to controllers, and Apollo, Britain's first computer programmed for experimental ATC data processing, which is in service. The work of the Blind Landing Experimental Unit in developing a completely automatic system of landing is illustrated. Over 10,000 successful landings have been made. Coolair units for ground cooling of cabin and electronic equipment bays, together with Pressair units for cabin pressure testing and air ventilated suit units for cooling Service aircrew flying clothing whilst awaiting take-off; and the now firmly established airborne target- towing winch type "G," as used by the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force and foreign air forces.
