Przemyslowa 26, Warsaw, Poland. External. This State-controlled enterprise is respon sible for the sales of all Polish aviation products. At Paris the organization is spon soring demonstrations of the Zefir and Foka high-performance sailplanes and the SM-1W four-seat helicopter. This aircraft is the Polish development of the Russian Mi-1 and is avail able as a passenger transport, ambulance, agricultural aircraft or trainer. Additionally Motoimport are displaying flight instruments for sailplanes and light aircraft. Stand A.4 and external. The following types of aircraft built by Nord are either on show at Le Bourget or are represented: Transall C.160, Nord 2501 Noratlas, 260 Super Broussard, and 262. Missiles represented are SS.10 and SS.ll (anti-tank), SS.12 (anti-tank), ENTAC (anti tank), AS.20 (air-to-ground), and AS.30 (air-to-ground). Drone targets are the CT.20 and the Mach 2.5 CT.41 Narval. A product of French-German co-operation, the C.160 Transall has two Rolls-Royce Tyne turboprops and is fitted with large rear doors to facilitate dropping of heavy loads by para chute and to permit direct loading of tanks, vehicles, etc. Excellent take-off and landing characteristics, even from semi-prepared surfaces, are claimed. The Nord 262 (two Turbomeca Bastan VI) is also noted for its take-off and landing per formance. A typical seating arrangement provides for 26 passengers. Largest of the missiles is the AS.30, of super sonic spin-stabilized type, designed for attack ing surface targets. It can be fired either in level flight or in a dive. The theme of the Normalair display is intended to illustrate the company's ability to design, develop and produce aircraft environ mental control systems as completely inte grated installations, and the design of the stand is based upon the recently adopted Normalair symbol—a symmetrical geometric figure constructed by the accurate integration of 20 triangular facets, and "representative of the balanced co-ordination of efficiency and operation which is achieved by the Normalair policy of producing aircraft cabin environ mental control systems as completely inte grated installations." Individual items are: BAC One-Eleven air- conditioning and pressurization system; Tran sall C.160 air-conditioning and pressurization system; pneumatic pressure control system; and electro-pneumatic pressure control system. In addition to these complete systems the following equipment is on show: portable vapour cycle cooling equipment for ground conditioning of small aircraft; cold-air units of lOlb/min to lOOlb/min capacities; a range of liquid oxygen converters of between 3| litres and 35 litres capacity; reciprocating and centrifugal refrigerant compressors, with capacities between 0.8 and 18 tons of refrigera tion; and a seat-mounted oxygen system for modern high-performance military aircraft. The vehicle, which will take the first Americans to the moon, is manufactured by North American Aviation's Space and Information Systems Division. On show for the first time is Autonetics Division's new compact general- purpose digital analyser computer known as Felicia and intended for use in guidance, flight control and automatic check-out of various military and space systems. Autonetics also display electronic gear, while North American S.p.A. of Turin are exemplifying their capa bilities to support and repair Autonetics- produced and/or licensed systems in Europe. The Los Angeles Division are showing a model of a supersonic transport concept, and at the time of writing i t is hoped that the USAF will display a T-39 multi-purpose jet transport-trainer. Rocketdyne are showing on film some of their products which are expected to power America's first moon shot. An actual US Navy Sparrow missile, with Rocketdyae- produced solid-fuel engine, is on view. Also displayed are models of the A-5 Vigilante, built by the Columbus Division, as well as their Redhead/Roadrunner. The Atomics Inter national Division depict on film their work in constructing nuclear reactors for space.
