THE CFS AEROBATIC TEAM, "The Red Peli cans," are giving a display today (Thursday, September 12) at St Helier airport, Jersey, CI, to commemorate the Battle of Britain. The show is also being visited by a Vulcan of 230 OCU at RAF Finningley. NO 21 SQN, based at RAF Eastleigh, Nairobi, has been presented with com memorative crests by the Kenya Police in recognition of the assistance given to their signals branch in maintaining communi cations in undeveloped areas during the past year. GP CAPT D. R. S. BADER, the distinguished former fighter pilot, is to receive the name- plate of the locomotive Fighter Pilot, one of the Battle of Britain class British Railway locomotives, in London tomorrow, Septem ber 13. He named this engine on September 19, 1947. At tomorrow's ceremony, the nameplate No 46 Sqn is to be received by the AOC-in-C Fighter Command. Air Marshal Sir Douglas Morris. The presentations are being made by a senior British Railways official. THE RAF BENEVOLENT FUND received £745 during the first six months of this year from unwanted foreign coins placed in collecting- boxes at London and other British airports. Air Marshal Sir John Whitley, Controller of the Fund, says that this was £300 more than the amount received in the corre sponding period of 1962. Sir John has re cently reported that the Fund spent £600,000 last year. THREE COLTISHALL AIRMEN—WO J. Smythe, Ch Tech R. Byers and Sgt B. Parkinson- have jointly been awarded £1,000 by the Air Ministry, on the recommendation of the Committee on Awards to Inventors, for an air portable instrument for checking Fire-streaks. It enables the missiles to be checked "on site" instead of being transported for servicing and it is officially estimated will "save the RAF many thou sands of pounds."
