FLIGHT International, 19 September 1963 525 Gemini Ejection Testing At the US Naval Ordnance Test Station, China Lake, California, ejection seats of the type to be used in NASA's two-man Gemini spacecraft are being tested. A mock-up of the Gemini craft is mounted on a rocket sled (left); dummy astronauts are placed aboard the seats which are then inserted in the spacecraft (.above); and the dummies and seats are recovered after ejection at high speed (below). Ejection tests from a static mock-up (below left) are also carried out.
