FlIGHT International, January 9 1964 ... fitted with a HOBSON FLAP CONTROL SYSTEM of proven reliability and short haul capability Operation of the 3-piece Fowler type flaps fitted to each wing of this aircraft is effected by a HOBSON Control Unit supplying the necessary power to drive eight HOBSON Ball Screw Jacks through either primary or secondary shafting. Various protective features are included and a fail- safe philosophy has been applied in the design of the system either by duplicating the most essential features or by providing secondary elements which back up the primary load carrying members.
