SPORT AND B U S I N ESS David Cooke We regret to record the death, in a flying accident on February 1, of Mr David Cooke, chief flying instructor of the Ulster and Shorts Gliding Club. A club colleague writes: "His tragic death is not only a great personal shock to his many flying and gliding friends, but is an immeasurable loss to the gliding movement in Northern Ireland. The entirely selfless way in which David and his wife devoted all their spare time to gliding over the last few years has enabled the gradual growth and subsequent amalgamation of the Shorts and Ulster clubs. It is a bitter irony that he should have died after the two clubs' first wholly successful season together, just when his ideas and ambitions seemed to be coming to fruition. No effort will now be spared to build on the foundation that he laid." Morava Prices Basic UK price of the Morava L 200D twin- engined five-seater has been reduced to £17,350 (including British calibrated instruments, full blind-flying panel, two altimeters, thermal wing de-icing and alcohol propeller de-icing).
