20 FLIGHT International, 19 March 1964 LEADS THE WAY IN HELICOPTERS The Westland range of modern, turbine- powered helicopters —'Scout1, 'Wasp1, 'Whirlwind Series 3', 'Wessex 1' and 'Wessex 2' —is the largest offered by any manufacturer. All the machines are in full production for British and overseas operators. HOVERCRAFT Only five years ago Westland's Saunders- Roe Division designed and built Britain's first Hovercraft, the SR.N1. To date the more advanced SR.N2 has covered almost 100,000 passenger-miles since its first sea trial on January 8th, 1962. The even larger SR.N3 (illustrated) has started its trials prior to delivery to the British Services for evaluation in a number of possible military roles. For the future, Westland already has the 150 ton, 600 passenger SR.N4 in the advanced project stage. 7W/WESTLAND the great name in HELICOPTERSthe first name in HOVERCRAFT WESTLAND AIRCRAFT LIMITED YEOVIL ENGLAND
