fLIGHT International, 16 April 1964 a measure of quality A Plessiflex parallel corrugating machine. convolute characteristics Many different forms and spacings are possible using the specially developed machines which produce Plessiflex parallel corrugated hose and bellows. The machines form each corrugation singly, which allows for bellows and ducts of widely differing characteristics to be produced. In stainless steel—or rarer materials such as Titanium and Zirconium—these machines produce up to 12' of corrugated parallel form tube according to height and depth of corrugations. Diameters can be as large as 8" and walls up to 1/32" thick. Such a tube thick- ness is often obtained by expanding a number of thin wall tubes inside one another. Once a suitable Plessiflex design has been developed and tested, machine settings are automatically tabulated so that consistent quality is ensured from batch to batch. Write to us about your flexible coupling problems—it's more than likely we can help. A Plessiflex parallel corrugated bellows. ESS/HEX Flexible metallic hose, bellows and thin-wall duct. This is checked by successive applications of increasing axial loads, measuring the deformation produced and ensuring that the bellows returns to its original length. 1 PAL 29
