FLIGHT International, 16 April 1964 17 HAWKER SIDDELEY AVIATION LIMITED OE HAVILLAND DIVISION We are extending our SERVICE DEPARTMENT to ensure adequate after sales coverage of the Trident, which is now in service, and also of the H.S. !25 executive jet aircraftshortly to enter service. Experienced engineers under 40 years of age are required for the following positions: TECHNICAL REPRESENTATIVES (Electrical and Mechanical) Men with a wide practical and theoretical knowledge of jetaircraft engineering, or electrical engineering as applied to such aircraft, and considerable experience with airlines, anaircraft manufacturer, or with aircraft in the Services. A Higher National Certificate or equivalent technical qualification is desirable. Although based at Hatfield, where initial familiarisation will be carried out, representatives must be prepared to spend varying periods, attached to the operator's engineering staff, at home and abroad. HEADQUARTERS ENGINEERS(Aeronautical) To carry out defect investigation on the Trident, H.S. 125and future aircraft. A good practical engineering back- ground with reasonable understanding of engineering theory,coupled with jet aircraft maintenance experience is essential. Applicants must be energetic and have an enquiring mindcapable of conducting defect investigation from start to finish. ELECTRICAL/INSTRUMENT INSTRUCTORTo write lecture notes on aircraft electrical systems, and also on electronic and electrical aircraft instrument installations.To lecture to maintenance engineers and aircrew on these subjects. Applicants must have the ability to impart suchknowledge and it would be advantageous that they should hold an "X" licence. The syllabus covers the operational engineering and economic implications of air transport and includes the related aspects of systems, materials, design and propulsion. Full use is made of College aircraft and maintenance organisation to illustrate the operational aspects of the subject. The course is residential.
